Mt. Maculot

Mt. Maculot is a mountain located in Cuenca, Batangas, Philippines. The summit elevation is at 930 MASL while the famous Rockies part is at 706 MASL and the Grotto which is only accessible during the traverse is at 510 MASL. The Mt. Maculot traverse trail is much more difficult to hike which is why majority of the hikers back-trails to the jump-off site.

It is a very popular hiking destination in Batangas due to its scenic view of the Taal lake in the Rockies. Along the trail of Mt. Maculot, there are various stop points that has sari-sari stores that offers various snacks like halo-halo, buko juice and softdrinks.

Guide Pricing

  • 1 guide to the Rockies is PHP 400 for a group of 5 hikers. You may have to add PHP 50 for each additional hiker if your group exceeds more than 5.
  • If going to the summit, you need to add PHP 50 each for the group.
  • If you are traversing Mt. Maculot, you would also need to add PHP 50 for each person.

Notes

  • There are no water sources in Mt. Maculot however there are sari-sari stores available there. So you must prepare at least 2 liters of water enough to finish the whole hike.
  • The cellphone signal is relatively good in Mt. Maculot due to its proximity in the municipality.
  • There are bath available after the hike that would cost around PHP 20 for each person. However water is limited and served by a large bucket of water.
